So create wineprefix, install launcher, install game, done. That simple. Wow.
Hopefully the shader cache issues will be resolved as graphics pipeline library extensions make it to the stable drivers.

Quoting: ShmerlDo you mean this firmware already works with current nouveau kernel module or it needs that custom (not upstreamed) open kernel module from Nvidia still?
Actually, the new firmware is intended to be used by nouveau but instead of that we got a new driver using the firmware, because apparently starting from scratch is easier than refactoring nouveau.
The "kernel module" part is used as reference, not directly.
At least this is what I understood.

Quoting: GuestHow do you use GPU stats on system monitor?
Edit page, click on any sensor, click the sensor on the menu on the right, choose GPU.
You may need a recent KDE version. What distro are you using?

Quoting: ShmerlIt still needs the kernel driver with reclocking though, right? That didn't get upstream yet.
It needs the GSP (GPU system processor) firmware, which is provided by Nvidia since open kernel modules announcement. So we have reclock support in this driver as well. Open kernel modules aren't upstreamed.

SteamOS and Steam Deck on top for Linux in the Steam Hardware Survey

Not referring to any individual but this is what I witness generally:
Market share increases: "There are dozens of us! DOOZEENS!! Year of the Linux Desktop TM is coming" (been there myself, done that)
Market share decreases: "Minor decrease, statistical noise, no problem, we'll get'em next time"
I stopped caring because seriously, we are talking about %0.0x changes overall. Notify me when changes are %0.1x:grin:

Quoting: EikeNobody's installing Windows on the Steam Deck.
This is important, though.

It is interesting to see things I recently noticed/started using like GPU stats on System monitor and microphone indicator to be endorsed by Valve.
If only the GPU monitor wasn't broken on 5.26

Quoting: Comandante ÑoñardoThe main point here is what will happen with all those Linux ports

Will publishers adapt the ports for Steamdeck or just drop all the job to the recycle bin?
They didn't adapt ports for Linux / Steam Deck before, they obviously won't now.

Quoting: HoolyI am currently more excited about the eventual 525 driver that is supposed to fix the XWayland sync issues in Prime setups (i.e. hybrid laptops): https://gitlab.freedesktop.org/xorg/xserver/-/issues/1317 [External Link]
This is my only major issue remaining on Wayland even if I have already switched to it.
I don't remember experiencing this with the open kernel modules but they have their own set of problems.

System76 gives the Oryx Pro a big refresh with an OLED 4k display

> 15.6" or 17.3" FHD (1920x1080) Matte Finish or 15.6" OLED UHD (3840x2160) Glossy Finish

So if you want larger screen, you can't go for higher resolution. Huh?
