When the trailer started, I was thinking "great, one more third-person adventure...", then the hook thingy showed up and the little walking clock for small spaces.
Now I'm curious about it. If they manage to make it good enough I may grab it.

Is this kind of thing that I miss in big studio (AAA) games. Things are so generic that is difficult to be surprised by a new game from big companies. And when you find a game from them that resemble anything innovative, you can feel the wasted potential, because it is obvious that the creators original vision was castrated to "appeal to a bigger audience".

Interesting. When this came out on Steam, the Linux version wasn't available. Then I saw the reviews and it was not encouraging. But now that I see that Ethan Lee is involved, I found a good justification to grab it, after all, his game track record with me is pretty good.

If SteamOS is 7.6% of ~1,623,600 million Linux users, it is safe to say Valve delivered about 123,000 units so far?

The side port for Ethernet must be that they are utilizing a existent PCB, and changing the case form factor to accommodate the Steam Deck.

Sure, it is your game and you have the liberty of doing the way you want, just don't come after complaining that your game didn't become the next indie blockbuster, because XYZ reasons.

Quoting: GuestIt is stuff you see over the years. Is the case of developers thinking "the bait should be good for the fisherman, not the fish". To me, when you make a game, you should look out of your comfort zone and see what people want.Quoting: M@GOidYeah, it would be really cool if videogames were a form of art and not just a way to make money.Exanima is a game that does not naturally lend itself well to controller input, some aspects of interaction by necessity remain cursor based,It still baffles me how some developers trow away market share themselves, by having this narrow view of the gaming market: "A PC game must be mouse and keyboard only". Then they act surprised when someone appears asking for gamepad support. Not to mention other modern stuff they continue to be oblivious about.
Next is complaining about poor low sales, how Valve is a monopoly that don't promote their game enough, while cutting too much their profits, so they will go to the Epic store because is better, etc etc. And them you never heard of them again for some reason...
In that way, artists could decide what is the best way to appreciate their creations, instead of being criticized for not having distorted them.
Unfortunately, we live in a crazy world.
Done with sarcasm, sorry, but out of curiosity, with "some developers" are you refferring also to those who made Exanima, right?

This week I saw news about Ubisoft pulling the plug on a lot of its games, one just 3 years old.
It stuff like this that makes me a fanboy of Valve. While they are not perfect, spending money on their stuff is a much better investment than on the majority of other big gaming companies.

I was one of the ones that nagged them for more difficulty options. Good for them to listen and implemented what people want.
Some people may like extreme difficulty in the games they play, but that is not the majority, by a large margin. Most people play jut for fun, is not a life goal for them to finish a extremely-hard-to-beat game.
In my youth I had finished a couple games people often include in the list of "most difficult games ever", like the NES Battletoads. But the older I get, the less patience I have to play games with sadistic levels of difficulty. There is just too many games out there, for me to spend money on something that don't bring you joy.
So I say put some difficulty level called "only for super-master-ninja" for the ones who need it to live, and let the rest of us to enjoy the game for what it is.
