Quoting: Quote from toorWell yea… why would I pay for a DRM version. Isn't this an abandonware? Working nicely on scummvm. Not like they ported it to linux right lol, it's just some trick I guess
Clearly not abandonware if the publisher is still selling it.
Yup, the rights were recovered by Night Dive Studios this year, so it's no longer abandonware.

GOL Cast: Sneaking in Shadows of The Dark Mod

Quoting: Quote from RenzaticI had problems with sound lag, too. After a bit of searching, I found this thread...

...which helped me fix it. It's a fairly simple thing that doesn't require you to jump through too many hoops. The digest version is finding the assigned name of your soundcard, and appending it to an entry in the .ini file.
Good to hear that the fix actually works. I might try it myself later today.

Glare Beautiful Platformer Officially Released On Steam
13 Oct 2013 at 3:36 pm UTC

Quoting: Quote from HadBabitsAnyone played it yet? The price is a bit steep for me (being the cheap bastard I am!) unless I know it's a great buy.
I have played an hour of it and so far it has been awesome. I usually dislike platformers, but I have enjoyed Trine 2 and this quite a lot and out of the two I'd say this is better. I'll probably release a video of it next week and then you can see it yourself. :)

SOMA, Sci-fi Horror Game From Frictional Games Shows a Gameplay Teaser Trailer

Quoting: Quote from Apopas
Quoting: Quote from HamishIs SOMA an abbreviation for something? Because it rings to me, if not, of Brave New World.
I don't know if there is any connection, but in greek means "body".
In Finnish it could be "cute", which I think has nothing to do with this game! :D

GOL Cast: Creating a Powerful Empire in 0 A.D.
10 Oct 2013 at 4:06 am UTC

It looks like 0 A.D runs really well on your system Samsai, and as always a very nicely done video :)
Yeah, it runs pretty nicely until the AI starts rolling his units out. The game doesn't quite handle large armies yet, but it has gotten better over time. Few alphas ago it was totally unplayable, now you can get something done at least. Oh, and thanks for the feedback! :)

Quoting: Quote from JoeAwesome soundtrack in the game, too. Thanks for showing it in the video. I hadn't seen a recent version yet.
Actually I hadn't really spent time with this release before this video. Had it downloaded ages ago, but other games have drawn me away from playing this game. :D

Game Dev Tycoon Now On Steam For Linux & Updated

Quoting: Quote from SteamPenguinDownloads no files right now, will probably be fixed soon
Yup, the game lacks files at the moment. I've sent them an email about it and hopefully they will resolve it soon.

Red Orchestra 2 And Tripwire's Future Titles To Come To Linux
1 Oct 2013 at 3:27 pm UTC

Not amazingly on topic anymore, but I guess that if there's one negative here it is for the Steam-haters. There exists the potential that future games don't support "linux" but do support "SteamOS". At that point, the developer is only distributing his game through Steam and not really making it natively available to all distros.
I understand not wanting DRM, but this Steam-hate is almost ridiculous, because I think we can honestly say Valve pretty much made Linux gaming a thing. Luckily the game selection has also grown outside of Steam too, so people that avoid Steam like plague will get the indie stuff that's floating around in Humble Store for example, but they will most likely miss all the great AAA titles that are coming to Linux.

GOL Cast: Weird Stuff in Kairo

Quoting: adolsonI also really enjoyed what I've played so far. I just have to find time to play all my games..
Same problem here, just can't find time for all of my 68 (and counting) games on Steam, not to mention all the free stuff!

Strife A New Simpler MOBA From The Heroes Of Newerth Developers
17 Sep 2013 at 4:50 pm UTC

I like the idea of a less toxic MOBA. So far the only MOBA like that has been Awesomenauts which isn't exactly like a traditional MOBA. :P
