Sonic x Shadow Generations announced with a Sonic Generations remaster

I was really into Shadow the Hedgehog when the game came out because I was a fan of Shadow since playing Sonic Adventure 2. The game wasn't very good in hindsight, but I did genuinely enjoy it when I first played it.

Interesting that they're doing a sequel. Can't say whether it will be good, but I'll at least give it a try.

Flathub now has over one million active users

Quoting: PublicNuisanceI always try to use the packages in my distro's repo but Flatpak has become my go to when that's not a viable option. AppImage isn't bad either.
I'm the opposite. With the exception of tools like my file manager, archiver, partition manager, etc., I grab all my programs as Flatpaks from Flathub.

My friend and I tried playing this earlier but it kept crashing on us after the first chapter. I'm sure it's good though, just needs the bugs worked out.

Ubisoft think gamers need to get comfortable with not owning games

I still buy music CDs, DVDs and Blu-rays.

I don't do streaming. Games are the only thing where I've almost entirely made the switch to digital, and that's because I switched from console to PC.

Tetris Effect: Connected adds HDR for Steam Deck OLED plus optimizations

My favorite Tetris is Tetris Plus for the PS1, but Tetris Effect is pretty good. I'm glad to see Steam Deck specific optimizations.

Fortnite on Linux / Steam Deck? Not until 'tens of millions of users'

Even if I didn't already dislike Fortnite, I still wouldn't play it simply due to my dislike of Epic and Timmy.

Steam Deck OLED is just pure joy - the definitive Steam Deck

Quoting: BlackBloodRum
Quoting: CyborgZetaI wasn't planning on getting a Deck OLED, but I somehow ended up messing up my original Deck. I opened it back up to replace the 512GB SSD I installed when I first got it with a 2TB SSD...but after that it randomly shut down on me while playing a game, would fault to fully boot, and the picture would get all glitchy and none of my buttons would work. I think it go an error downloading the 3.5 update since, when it went to reboot, it got stuck on a black screen and got hot, with the screen getting colorful and fuzzy for several seconds, before I manually shut it off. I can only speculate that that experience caused the internals to overheat and damage something.

The 2TB SSD I got definitely wasn't the issue. Not only did it pass SMART no problem, but I just put it into my Deck OLED and everything is fine. Very strange experience.
... is everything connected/seated correctly? You'd be surprised how many odd things a loose cable/loose seating could cause.

That honestly sounds to me like something isn't connected correctly/fully, or something got damaged while you were changing bits.
I don't feel like opening it up back up to check, but I do not recall anything out of the ordinary. I opened up my Steam Deck the same way I did the first time, including grounding myself with an anti-static bracelet like I always do when playing with PC internals. The only thing I disconnected was the battery, for obvious reasons.

That said, when I reopened it the third time to remove the 2TB drive from it to put away for the OLED, I did forget to remove my microSD card from the slot before reopening it and it broke in two. Complete boneheaded move on my part.

Intel Vulkan drivers on Linux should run more games with Mesa 24.0

Great news. I love my Arc A770, but some games just don't start. So far, it's just been Cyberpunk 2077 and the Resident Evil 4 remake. Crisis Core Reunion initially had the same issue, but it started working again last month.

Not a big deal right now, since Cyberpunk and RE4R aren't games I care about; but improved drivers is nonetheless a good thing all around.
